Why an open-source day
A local industry with global upstream, finally in the same room.
Sibiu builds embedded software, automotive platforms and infrastructure that already depends on open-source projects every single day. What has been missing is a place where the engineers doing that work meet the ecosystem they build on top of.
FOSSibiu runs on 3 November as part of Tech Show: a conference track in the amphitheatre plus two deep, hands-on workshops on real hardware - not slideware.

Workshops
Two hands-on tracks, on real hardware
Both workshops are limited-capacity and require registration. Bring a laptop.
Zephyr Workshop
25 NXP development boards will be handed directly to registered participants for a fully interactive, hands-on RTOS experience. Learn professional development on real microcontrollers, guided by senior NXP engineers: build system, device tree, drivers, threading and debugging on the board in front of you.
The Yocto Project
Hands-on embedded Linux: master the industry’s leading open-source framework for building, customising and maintaining a Linux OS for IoT and embedded devices. Practical training with BitBake, recipes and layers, to build production-grade images for connected products.
